Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a cell characteristic by using porous hollow rectifying plates and making these hollow parts communicate with the outside of a pressure container through the electrolyte supplying pipes which exist on the fuel gas side and the oxidizer gas side and supplying electrolytes from the outside through these supplying pipes. CONSTITUTION:Porous hollow members are used as rectifying plate 6' on the fuel gas side and a rectifying plate 7, on the oxidizer gas side, and hollow parts of these rectifying plates 6' and 7' are made to communicate with an electrolyte supplying pipe 9 on the fuel gas side and an electrolyte supplying pipe 10 on the oxidizer gas side, respectively, from the outside of a pressure container 11 so that vapory electrolytes are supplied to the rectifying plates 6' and 7'. Hence, the vapory electrolytes are supplied to the whole electrolytic layers in a cell stack from the hollow parts of the rectifying plate 6' on the fuel gas side and the rectifying plate 7' on the oxidizer side. Therefore the electrolytes inside the electrolytic layers can be prevented from being exhausted, so that the amount of electrolytes can be kept constant and three-phase interface formation can be stably maintained at all times.
